After you take your PTE exam, if you are not happy with the scores you
receive on your scorecard then you can request for re-evaluation of your score.
Before opting for this option, you should always keep the following
points in mind and reconsider your decision of re-evaluation:
- PTE examination is a computer-based exam and the scoring
system is an automated process where a computer evaluates your responses so
there are minimum chances that your score will reflect a change.
- Out of all the sections, responses of only the written and spoken section are considered for re-evaluation.
- · Due to some technical error, if at all your score changes then there are chances that your score will go up as well as down. So consider both the situations before opting for the re-evaluation of your score.
- · If your score changes then your previous score will be replaced by the new one that means if your re-evaluated score is low then the actual score then it will be replaced with this new low score. Be prepared for that.
- · This is not done for free. There is a re-evaluation fee of $100 which is not a small amount. Think twice before you choose to go for re-evaluation.
- · You cannot request a re-evaluation if you have already scheduled another test appointment or you have already sent your score to an institute.
- · There are very rare cases in which your microphone is not working or there was some problem in recording. Your systems are checked and tested before handing over to you. The malfunctioning is the rarest situation.
